First, I do assume you did all the troubleshooting of the fuses and tried both the console and the tailgate key swithes?
Ok, this is going to be rough, but:
Climb into the back of your rig and remove the access panel from the tailgate.
Inside, you will see the mechanism for your window. Remove the motor, and you should be able to drop the window manually.
Not going to be easy, but it should not be too bad either. I suggest laying down the rear seats for more room. You should be able to close the window this way too, then prop it with something stable (like a clamp) to keep it up.

If you're gonna be in there, why not just replace it yourself or having someone that can do it, might as well.

Back Window Progress(lack of)
Well I removed access panel.Everything looks rusty and frozen in place.I see nothing moving.Just hearing a slight clicking when the up or down button is pushed.Should I remove the four bolts holding everything?Or can I just remove the motor?What exactly does the motor look like?Previous poster said there were three screws holding it on.I don't see any.It just looks like one piece with four bolts securing it to gate frame.Ready to break the glass, fix the brake light and bring it to a glass place for a replacement window.All the other light lenses on the vehicle are secured with screws that are easily accsessed.Very frustrating and time wasting.Sorry to ramble on.

I hope you do not break the glass - just take it all out replace the bulb and put it back in there - propped up until you can get the motor. Your going to spend a lot on the glass, then your going to have to fix the motor or relay or switch that is causing it.
The rear wiper being messed up can also cause your window not to roll down, also the tailgate lock button not being down all the way - also on 1st gens there is a switch that is actuated by a bolt that holds down the top - so if you go topless and forget to install that one srew - the window will not work either - it's all interlock safety switches so people don't get hurt.

Ok, the motor is a black cylinder, about the size of a pop (soda) can. That should be all you need to remove. After that is out, you should be able to muscle the gears to get the window down.
The motor should be on the right side as you face the rear of the truck from the inside.
If it all crusty inside there, that is surely why it is not working. Just take your time with the motor, get it out, or loose at least, then once the gate is open, wash it out. Some carb cleaner spray should clean it up, then you will need to hose it out, then clean your electrical connections. If you have the patience, clean it with a stiff brush and a solvent to break the mechanisms free. If not, just blast it out with a pressure washer, but that can make a mondo mess!
Yeah, the tailights can be a pain! I had to change mine under the same circumstances as you! I had JUST bought the thing, had it one day and saw the tailight was out. Then, after I got that fixed, my brake lights went out! I had to route a new power line to the fuse for the brake light circuit...there is no power to the fuse at all. So I patched into my cigar lighter for the fresh power source. Works fine now! (as long as the key is on!)
