I'm getting fed up with the erroneous fuel readings on my '06 TR4 so I'm going to dive into the sending unit replacement. I've tried all the fixes posted here on forum and Seafoam with no positive results. I've read here that most folks replace the fuel pump at the same time they replace the sending unit. I assume that's still the consensus. Only problem is that's a $500+ part vs $75 for the sending unit only. Is the juice really worth the squeeze to replace both? Do the OEM fuel pumps fail that often? Also, if I have to do both, is OEM required or is an aftermarket part good enough? I have about 130K on the clock.
