replacing rear caliper

Hello,

I have a 2004 V6 4-Runner with a sticking rear driver's side caliper. Can anyone point me to a video or give some tips to replace? Specifically, is it OK to pinch off the black rubber coated brake line that connects to the caliper? This line feels like it is rigid on the inside and I am afraid of damaging. I assume I have to pinch it off before disconnecting from the caliper to avoid brake fluid from draining out while I do the replacement.

It is soft. you can pinch it off after disconnecting. you won't lose much fluid.

Do some searching on here. lots of good information on this. i am actually doing mine this weekend. My recommendation is to replace both calipers and rotors and pads all at the same time. this is expensive but effective. Also, make sure that you get to the parking brake adjustment gear and loosen the parking brake as much as possible. Otherwise, when you pull off the rotor, you will damage the parking brake mechanism and putting this back together suuuuucks.

Lastly, you use blots to back the rotor off of the hub. there are two bolt holes in the rotor for this.
