Replacing stock radio with Nav etc?

I just bought a 2005 4Runner Sport Edition - LOVE IT. It's got lots of bells and whistles, but has what looks to be the stock stereo system. I'd love to replace it with a navigation system - but would also like to have something that could read the data from the car's computer (e.g. via the bluetooth dongle I have that plugs in to the port and lets my Android pull the data). Any recommendations?

Search on "Climate control light". IIRC 4th or so thing down that actually looks like it was for changing the bulbs, has a link to a write up of doing a Nav swap. Pretty sure it was a factory deck that would do all the things you are aiming at.

do you have a JBL stereo or not? I have been wanted to try to swap a 2014 FRS or scion pioneer radio into my 05, but this specific stereo does not come in a JBL version. It might just be a plug and play for you if you do not have the JBL. worth looking into anyways. The radio is nav ready, the nav setup is separate. can be had for like $600 or so as a pull out or on egay.

I don't *think* it's the JBL. I'll take a pic and post it tonight. So the Scion radio/nav systems are plug and play with the non-JBL wiring harness, then? I'd want to go eBay for sure - I'm pretty n00b to the 4Runner, can you recommend an auction to get me started?

easy way to tell, you should be able to find a little gold icon that says JBL on your current stereo. if its not there, you do not have the jbl stereo.

PT546-00140 ("T10015" is on the front) is the PN for the scion stereo i am talking about. it should be PnP, but do not quote me and take my word as gold!! you may have to do some additional custom wiring to make it work. worth noting, in order to have nav, you MUST have the extension box that is an add on below the stereo. the stereo comes without this box as well.

Anybody know if last Gen 4 radio (2009?) had Bluetooth ? Kinda doubt it .
