Replacing stock speakers in a 98 ?

Crutchfield said I would need to build brackets to replace the rears and the tweets in the mirror pods. Is this true? If so, does anyone out there know how to build these "so called" brackets? I was wanting to do 6.5 components in the fromt and 6.5 coaxials in the rear. Any feedback will help.

I installed 6.5's in the front doors of my 2000 without a bracket. The screws were at the very end of the slots in the speakers, but they gripped well enough. The tweeters you will have to fashion something. I have the same problem. I am not sure what I will do there yet. I may just leave the stock tweeters in.

If you have super deep speakers you may have a problem with depth, but I didn't, and I think mine are pretty deep. I did have to trim a little bit off the metal in the door to fit them in, but it was pretty minor, and no components interfered.

dont even worry about the back ones cant hear them for a fuzz any ways a nice set of 6.5'' comps in the front off a amp will work fine
