replacing the driver's seat?

It's an easy swap for sure. The hardest part will be finding a good condition seat. That's almost impossible!

I've been considering new foam for mine. About 200 for factory parts, or I suppose I could get creative for less...

My solution was to do a foam and seat bottom cover swap from a used passenger seat. If you have patience and can operate hog-ring pliers, it is no big deal. I got seats from a junkyard for <$40 for the foam swap (and ended up selling the headrests for a profit).

my solution was to swap in highly modified scion xb seats.

I swapped the passengers side seat bottom with the drivers and thoroughly deburred the steel part of the seat frame that causes all the cracking/ripping on the exterior side. The new/old bottom has held up just fine.
The passengers seat bottom has temporarily (3 years now?) been a similar color cloth while I get the original drivers piece repaired (possibly never at this point).

the temporary setup also showcasing my 99 center console
