replacing tires - tire pressue monitor ??

So I found a nail in my tire and have bought a new set and am going to have them put on tomorrow. Can someone clue me in on the tire pressure system ? Is it attached to the valve stem as I have heard. If that is the case, then I will have to make sure that whereever I take them knows this and doesnt replace, or touch the valves.
Can anyone confirm this ?

yes...you are correct I just did 4 tires and made sure I told them. They will replace that springy thing that goes inside of the valve stem (from the outside).

Make sure they drop pressure sensors in the tire before dismounting as suggested in service bullettin.
