Replacing touch screen, Pioneer model, help!

Anyone have experience replacing a Pioneer navigation screen?
I have a 2013 4Runner trail edition and have everything apart but can't seem to firmly insert the screen circuit tape into the connector on the circuit board...it's loose. Wondering if anyone else had a similar problem.
I saw a great write up a guy did when replacing his screen, but it is a Panasonic and does not have the same connector.
