Hey guys I am down under visiting family. There are a lot of good looking versions of our cousin the Prado on the road, looks like a nice ride. Most everyone has a snorkel, comes as an option from the dealer, and an ARB bull bar, not having one is the exception. Most of the off road lifted rigs are the Land Cruiser 70 series, how about a turbo diesel Landcruiser 70 with the twin fuel tank and a 900+ mile range? The "tray" truck rigs are pretty sweet too. Lifted these pics online, typical setups, seen plenty of cool rigs on the road but I can't take a pic while i am trying to keep it between the lines in a right hand driver!

You know why everyone has those ARB bull bars, is because they need them down there.

A friend of mine was down there a few years back and smashed up his rental car when one of those big ones hopped right in front of him without any warning.

Odds of hitting a kangaroo in certain locations over there is 1:7. Odds of hitting a deer where I live is 1:34. I live in the highest deer strike area of the US. Also the highest deer population too.

-front and rear solid axles, front, center, and rear factory lockers
-comes in troop carrier, ute, or wagon variants
-ac
-cloth seats
-manual windows

...no entune, KDSS, touchscreen nav, blue tooth, voice recognition BS...

It is as pure of an off roader as you can get, but Toyota doesn't want to sell them.

The entire Scion brand is trash, Toyota still sells them. Stupid? Yes.

The Matrix is some bizarre crossover byproduct of a partnership with Pontiac that has long ago evaporated. Stupid? Yes.

Lexus CT hybrid. Stupid? Yes.

Lexus LFA. Stupid? Yes.

The Yaris is a failure in quality, value for money, sales, and pretty much undermines the entire Scion brand. Stupid? Yes.

The FR-S/BRZ project has been a QC nightmare and a warranty money pit. Stupid? Yes.

The Tacoma is the only truck in the segment, and Toyota refuses to update it because sales aren't falling off--but they're not growing, either. Stupid? Yes.

I think for all the garbage Toyota sells in the US they could sell a few LC76s in the States without it really registering in the Stupid column.

If you have seven drivers of seven vehicles enter a certain area then statistically one of them is going to hit a kangaroo sometime.

[MENTION=92049]LandCruiser[/MENTION], agreed, it is hard to imagine Toyota could not sell the LC70 series in the U.S., I realize us fewer gizmo solid off roaders are not the majority of the market but it is a sweet looking and tough rig.
