Based on Australian-to-US conversion of $0.9, the LC70 would go for about $60k. And thats assuming no import taxes, etc are added. No way that would work. For that price it would only be a toy for the rich like D90's and G-wagens.

If you want a pure SUV, why not just buy a LWB Rubicon? :behindsofa:

I know they're less reliable, but for the $25k price difference that's a gamble most people are willing to take.

You can't go by AUS to Dollar conversion, they pay stupid prices for all cars there. Base FJ Cruiser is over $43K USD. A similar Prado to a 4Runner (4L gas engine, auto trans, etc) is $57K USD.

True, but after you factor in the chicken tax on the diesel, 60-70k probably wouldn't be too far off. It'd easily be around 80k in Canada.
