Resnoator/tailpipe difference between 4th Gen 4.0 vs 4.7?

Some background info before I ask my question...

For about a year I had a Magnaflow cat back exhaust system, but took it off when the drone became unbearable to my passengers (jerks). I had planned on bolting back on the stock V6 exhaust system, but it suddenly disappeared from my garage, believe it or not. I found out later that my then GF had cleaned out my garage (without my consent by the way), and tossed that huge box out (still can't figure out how she managed to move it). In a rush to get my exhaust back to OEM, I got my hands on someone's V8 system not knowing that the intermediate pipe was shorter on the V8 than a V6. I had a muffler shop weld on a piece to make up the difference, but lately I decided to find a V6 muffler to replace my Frankenstein V8 muffler.

I checked on Partznet to see if I can just pick up a V6 muffler and not buy a seperate resonator/tip, but it gave two different prices for a V6 & V8 resonator/tip. I'm not sure if they are the same part or if they are somehow different. I'm thinking that they're the same and that the price is just reflecting on the difference between a 4.0 vs 4.7, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Personally, I'd leave off the resonator. I've been researching, and a number of people have removed the resonator and had an exhaust shop route the exhaust to come out behind the pass. rear tire. I plan to have this done as soon as I find a decent shop to do the work. Most say there is no audible difference in sound. The rest say there is a difference, but it is so minor that you have to know and be listening for it to notice.
