i recently turned my rotors myself, im 18 and i did it a month ago when i was in school. I did it with my autotech teacher. I also have a 3rd gen so i dunno if thats different or not. Anywho on to the process.
(1)I removed the tires
(2)took out the 2 large bolts that hold on the caliper and slid that off (i kind of propped it up back behind the rotor) (i did not have to disconnect the brake lines)
(3)removed the rotors and threw em on the machine and worked some magic
(4) replace everything
I also replace my brake pads while i did this and i think the complete total cost was around $35 for the complete brake servicing. Now the down side, on the drivers side when i was replacing the caliper there was one of the bolts that took me about an hour to get it back in because it would start and get half way in and then just come out. I finnally got it in done. A month later(past weekend) i was driving down to the beach doin about 60 and my front tire just locked up and i went spinning off the road. Turns out that one bolt that took forever to get back in had slipped out. I figure i may have stripped it when i was putting it back in. And when the bolt fell out, my caliper just slid out into the interior of the wheel causing it to grind agaisnt it so hard that my wheel just locked up. I hope this works out for you
