Retrofit people, anyone on this board still actively do this?

With all the stuff coming up regarding retrofits, does anyone still do this on the side? I've seen old threads and whatnot where people did a few sets, or did one for themselves, ect.

Does anyone CURRENTLY do this? I am down to my final few "to-do's". I would like to get an idea what people are charging. I already tried 2 sets of halogen bulbs and they suck. I want to do it right.

Didn't feel this was really classified's material. If anyone can give me a heads up, I'd appreciate it.

Right, I had someone actually link me to his stuff. I just looked at 5 pages of stuff, no replies since August last year. This will be a chance for anyone who actively does this to respond and I'll take it to PM or phone conversation from there.

I don't want anything super fancy, just a quality job.

I promise you that you will not find another person doing them cheaper than I do.

You MIGHT if you find someone using eBay projectors and HID kits. In which case, you'd probably be better off with halogen.

**Edit** to be clear, that wasn't an attempt at marketing myself as better than anyone else. There's a reason I don't actively engage in trying to sell these things. They're a huge pain in the ass, and frankly after spending hours working on them and profiting just $200, I don't feel it's worth my time. I just try to help folks by offering them at a lower price than, realisitcally, anyone else.

I totally understand that. The other benefit is, you see where I live right?

I can literally drive to you and drop my stuff off. My 4runner is my daily. So the prospective idea of saving 2 weeks transit time for lights by being able to drive, is worth it alone.

Alex is a great guy. I got a set from him and it's great. I am never going back to Halogen...
 
Plus youll know where [MENTION=63487]A.Wilson013[/MENTION] lives. If he screws up your retrofit then youll know where to find him :hunter: lol

I'm going to have him do the lights. Just establishing figures and timelines. Glad I made this thread, didn't ever think I'd find someone an hour away to do them.
 
i'd like to see how the process is. i've seen so many posts and parts for these that i have lost track.

what is the best kit to buy? where? i don't know if any of the florida guys have them but i haven't seen any around here.
 
$625 for headlights? We are talking headlights right?

Retrofit headlights, or full rear offroad bumper. I dont see why the cost is the same. LOL.

It's all in the parts. Ordering TYC headlights and all the other components puts you at close to $400, then there are PayPal fees, and shipping. Then builders have to make something also. If you'd like to see our break down with the parts list and labor, I would more then happily send it to you.

Obviously it's not a priority in everyone's build. The only reason I have a set is because I just paid for the materials cost basically. Would I pay upwards of $700 for headlights? probably not. But that's the price you'll be looking at if you have someone make them for you.

I am interested also.. What do you charge?
 
I simply don't have the time and patience to deal with this many inquiries. I've got two of you with parts on the way, and when those are done I may consider doing more. However, if you're not local your chances are very slim. Shipping is such a pain, and such a liability.

Edit** I think I have finally responded to all PMs. I'd appreciate if no more were sent with regard to retrofit jobs.
