Retrofit steering wheel audio controls?

Anyone know if it's possible to add a steeering wheel with audio controls to an SR5? I know anything's possible but is the wiring harness in the steering column? If it's a plug and play solution, I may go for it.

I would also love to add the audio controls to my SR5 but I was told it was over $1000 by the dealership because they are completely different steering columns and airbag assemblies. I am not sure if it is cheaper elsewhere but I doubt anyone but a dealership can get the parts. I haven't found aftermarket steering wheel controls yet but haven't looked too hard either.

Another option is aftermarket head unit with an IR remote that can be attached to the steering wheel. I have seen those on crutchfield but not double DIN. I just bought a Scion 2006 HU and will install that soon but no IR remote. Let us know if you find anything.
