Retrofitted Heated Mirrors

Looking at buying a 97 4runner that has power mirrors that aren't functional. Just found out that 97 also didn't come with heated mirrors, which is a big deal for me, as I park outside, it has 35s, and I work snow. How involved would a retrofit be to get the heated mirrors working? I imagine it's one, maybe 2 wires I would have to splice into the defroster, right?

TIA

In theory it's pretty easy, habanero did it to her 96. You'll need mirrors from a 99, otherwise the shape of the mirrors change.

You can do 00-02 if you find the right color and swap them directly.

I was planning to do this to my 98, and have all the parts, but got stuck trying to get the screws out of my existing mirrors.
