Reuse or replace Exhaust Camshaft?

Currently rebuilding the engine on a 1999 SR5 manual 5 speed with 451K miles on it. All camshafts look pristine upon disassembly; but noticed wear on the right bank Nr. 1 cylinder rear exhaust lobe. Does not look like corrosion or damage during operation, but could be manufacturing defect when they cut the camshaft? I am going to let the machine shop offer their recommendation on replacement; but appreciate any opinions or feedback.

My old engine had a nick like that and didn't affect the shim. The most vulnerable part is the tip of the lobe, if that's worn out or cracked it can cause issues and crack more.

How did the shim that was under it look? Any uneven wear? That'll tell you more if you should replace it.

Run it, looks like casting flaw from factory it happens alot.

Thanks. Lifter had no unusual wear pattern. Will run out the lobe heights and reuse it.

Must do maintenance when I bought it: water in Nr. 3 cylinder, clutch worn (pedal to the floor). Decided to tear it down completely and rebaseline the engine. I plan on using it on long trips once all the mods are done.
