Here is a review on my new Lund Avenger Bug deflector.

A inexpensive alternitive to the OEM Toyota Bug shield.

I bought this from TruckXpressions.com for 39.99 Shipped. The installation was very easy and straight forward with no driling. It worked very well on my 2700 mile road trip recently. I noticed a small increase in wind sound at highway speeds. Overall this is a great product with great customer service. About 2 weeks after I installed it I noticed when I poped the hood that one side of the mounting was working its way loose. I pulled out the rubber plug that was loose and noticed it was ripping. The other side looked fine, So I figured it was just a bad plug. I called up Lund Customer service and was shocked when an actual human being answered the phone. No answering machine, no computer , no pressing 1 etc.... SHe said they had a small issue with the install kit and they would ship out a new one right away free of charge. SHe also emailed a 10% off coupon on my next order. I was a little pissed about the rubber plug being bad , but they made it right with me.

I have a Lund too, but I bought the clear model and had it colormatched. I'm happy with it.

Thanks! It cost about $100 to get it painted...a little pricey, but I like the look. It's pretty distinctive looking.

Hey, that looks pretty good! It's almost like the OEM Toyota one but the edges are curved on the Lund. Very nice!

There is definately a problem with the well nuts (the rubber plugs). I've gone through 2 already and the replacements aren't looking great. Somebody made a homemade fix for it a while back, do a search and it should come up.

Yeah, too bad I already have a smoke colored one... but hell they are cheap...

Yeah...I remember reading about the well nut problem. I haven't had a problem so far...keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey Boaz...I have the Lund(actually i think i mentioned it in a post) and others have purchased it for $39.99 shipped). I have had mine for awhile but not the time to install. I'm also slightly sqeamish about removing the grill. Any advise on how to make the install painless and not wreck my new runner. Thanks in advance from someone that is mechanically challenged!!!! :arrow:

Dont be skeerred dude! Its only like 6 nuts you remove for the grill, it comes with good instructions. Its really not hard at all. It took me all of 15minutes to do this. And I got adult A.D.D.!

NYFINEST...if you're still coming to the meet next week, I can give you a hand with it. It's definitely easier with another set of hands to hold the grille while you're attaching the brackets.

Hey Ed. Thats really nice of you. As of now my plan is to be there. Thanks again. I'll be bringing my Scion Head Unit and PIE adapter and see if there are any experts on dash removal to lend a hand. Look forward to the meet Until then......

No problem...I've done the Scion HU too! So has Bobby...I'm sure we can help with that. It's not bad at all. There is a write up by one of the other org members on how to remove the nav system. That write up is awesome...stepped me right thru the install. If you can't find it, I can bring it...it's still sitting in my garage. Let me know.

Ed Your the best!!!!!! I'll bring some nice gifts for the trouble!!!!! It will be nice to have the Lund and the Scion HU with my Roady2 XM Installed. The FM modulator just isnt cutting it!!!!!! I guess im gun-shy to do this stuff on my own because its brand new. Nice to have people that have done these mods before and know their way around!!!!! In any case the assist is more than appreciated!!!!!:awais:
