revo gameplan

I have 30k on the OEM Dunlops. Awful in the snow last year, have been OK in rain, tread is OK. I am going to the Bridgestone Revos 265/65/17 as my next tire. (I think I want to stick with OEM size)

I would like your comments on the following: I see the rebate ends Saturday and some posts say the prices are going up 11/1. I was thinking of getting them online this week to qualify for the rebate but keeping them in either the basement or shed until first snow to squeeze a few more miles out of the OEM.

Any downside to this approach? Might the deals at the end of the year be better?

Also, should I get an alignment when I put on the new tires? Right now, it doesn't seem like I need it.

Thanks for your help,

LoJeff

I just ordered mine actually. Local garage didn't have them in stock, but printed out an invoice for me with today's date on it, and gave me the rebate form. I'll install the tires when they arrive in a few days.

I wouldn't bother waiting, just get them installed now. You're talking, what, a month or so that you could save miles on them? Not worth it! :)

Paid 180 per tire, everything included. Tirerack has them for 150, but then I'd have to get them installed at $15 per, plus pay the NY state tire dispoasl fee of $10 per, plus pay $96 shipping.
