Revos on 2WD

Just looking to see how many 2WD Revo owners there are out there and how there experience with the Revos have been. Also looking for 2WD owners of 265/70-17 tires. I didn't realize that the 2WD is half an inch lower than the 4WD till today, and was wondering if that made enough difference to cause rubbing. Mine didn't get put on my 4Runner today, and I'm a little nervous about the size change.

This would have not been an issue if I had just gone ahead and bought a 4WD :chair:

I can still hear myself saying it... "I don't need it, I never go offroad!"

But I digress...

I don't know about the Revos...but

265/70/17 fit fine on a 2004 2wd - I just put a set of Bridgestone Alenza on mine last November - had no issues.

FWIW, I'd look at something other than the Revos unless you go offroad alot, in which case I'd look at a new vehicle

I'd look at something along the lines of the Alenza of Forterra...but that's just me because I dodn't go off-road much...

That's definitely a possibility. I was originally going to get a set of Fortera TripleTreds, but TireRack called me after I placed the order and said they would not be in stock for a few months. That's what lead me to get the Revos. However, the guy who called me was wrong, because I just found out that my local TireRack warehouse will have the TripleTreds in stock next week! So I may end up returning the Revos. Although, I must say, these Revos are great looking tires!

By the way, never leave new tires inside your 4Runner overnight. I put the Revos in the back last night so I can go straight to the tire shop after work if need be. I knew I was risking a nice smelling 4Runner in the morning but I took the risk. Well, I never thought new rubber could smell so strongly! I drove to work with all the windows down just so I could breath!

I have the exact same car as you 2005 GGM SE 2wd V6 and put Revos 265/70/17. They look great, not loud(same sound as Dunlops) and perform way better. Also no rubbing whatsoever.

Get them and don't look back. Also at times I kinda regret getting the 2wd but just like my reason when I bought it, that I don't really go offroading or go to the snow, I still really don't need 4wd. It helps now too with the gas prices being too high having a lighter 2wd vehicle.

The 265/70 17 on the 2WD is great! No rubbing and they handle much better in the rain and dry. They are quite a bit harder then the stocks so the ride is compromised a bit. I believe it is a fair trade off. Also they are a bit heavier then stock so there's a trade off in MPG, however your speed with be off, these tires are about 1" bigger and meatier.
