Revtek Lift in new catalog...

Just got my new Performance Products catalog and they list a Revtek 3" lift kit and it says "Replacement Shocks are Not Required". Would this apply also to the X-Reas equiped vehicles? If it does, how the heck are you supposed to remove the front shock/strut assembly to install the spacer! This does not make sense.

Read the PP fine print. It says not for use with XREAS or air-suspension equipped 4Runners.

I am not sure how, but there are some guys on Yota Tech that have got the Rev-Tek to work just fine on the X-Reas Suspension. There is a lot discussion on this and how it was done. If you are intersted in doing this, you might try a search on Rev Tek.

Are you installing the kit yourself, or having someone else do it for you. I'm interested in the Daystar kit myself, but I don't think I can install it myself.

Check out Doug M. on yotatech, he also goes my 02Runner. He has XREAS and installed the Rev-Tek. I think the biggest hurdle was being careful of the pressurized XREAS lines that run through the area that is lifted.

One wrong nick and the system will depressurize. I have heard it is big $$$ to replace the XREAS when damaged.

I like the Daystar idea, 3" from RevTek is stretching the longterm reliability of the CV's.

2.5" from Daystar sounds more doable.

I know how you feel. I know someone that offered to help me when the time comes- he has all the tools.

It really isn't a big deal putting in spacers. The biggest deal is going to get a alignment after it's done.

I don't know all the details but I think it's simply a matter of being careful not to pull the XREAS lines while you install.

If you are not in a rush, maybe we could cordinate and you can come watch/help put mine in and vice-versa.
Not sure when I'm doing it... maybe in a couple months, maybe sooner.

3" from RevTek is stretching the longterm reliability of the CV's.

Surprisingly, somehow comparing the cv angles from the 3rd gen, it looks like we can actually lift more than the 2.5" that the 3rd gen does. Since I have the coilover I have the ability to crank them high and I have checked and it looks like we can go pretty high Ofcourse I don't want to go too high though but it does look promising!

I think at 3" you'll have like 1 fin touching if that. Now thinking about it, 1 fin at 3" is pretty good
