I just recieved a stainless one yesterday. The thing is too big to fit into the receiver. I called Rhino and they said it must have been a manufacturing defect. I called back today and the person said that they had problems fitting Toyota's? From all the posts here it seems I am the only one with problems. Any one else have any issue fitting the thing into the receiver? I have a bike rack that fits perfectly but I measured and the hitch step is about 1/32 larger then the bike rack insert. Just my luck I guess. They said they were shipping a new one out to me tommorow to try.

I think one of its main purposes is to reduce the number of times you get back to your beloved 4Runner and find some idiot has scraped your rear bumper when getting out of the space next to you. From what I can tell in other posts you need your truck built like this if you live in New York in particular.
Here is a tip on the Rhino step, put a couple of layers of electrical tape around
the part the goes into the receiver. This will take up any slack and really make a
tight fit, it also keeps the rust and dirt out of the inside of the receiver.
I bought it because it makes a good step and adds protection to the rear, also
if you accidently back into a parking lot post, which you can't see, it will prevent
some expensive damage.

I bought it mainly to avoid parking lot hits to the rear bumper. Also we have a lot of minor rear end hits in stop and go traffic during rush hour.
I personally like the looks over the full tal and hadas rear guard for my purposes at least.
I do have the tal and hadas front bull bar and skid tubes on order.

Bobby, that is the nicest look that I have seen yet. The black looks better IMO. Are you getting a black T&H low bull or a chrome? I also looked at the pics of it up HERE and I have another concern about this thing. It looks like it sticks out pretty far, like it could smash someones shin or knee-cap.

Well at least with the chrome you have the limited lifetime corrosion protection instead of the 2 or 3 year with the black.Bobby said:Thanks Luxury!
I'm not much of a chrome guy but that was the only choice I had with the bull bar. Hopefully, it won't look too bad......

$59 + 10.95 shipping. It's the cheapest I've found. I thought it would be a knock off but it's a real Go Rhino hitch step.

I had to order another one and used the link before I scrolled down to read the last post. It is a martini lamp and I was able to cancel before it was shipped out. The customer service rep was actually a very nice woman that cancelled the order for me.
$59 + 10.95 shipping. It's the cheapest I've found. I thought it would be a knock off but it's a real Go Rhino hitch step.

I am not talking about parking lot posts, especially those that are about 2 feet tall and you cannot see them.
I bought my Rhino bar locally so I could inspect it. I must say that the construction is first class and they send
a nice cloth bag with it so when you take it off you won't scratch the chrome.
The trick I mentioned in the earlier post I do with the ball adaptors also, it keeps them from rattling and reduces
the rust inside the receiver.
