I've been contemplating on whether I should do a build thread for this car since it's given us so many problems but hey what the heck!
This is how I got her. 1999 Limited with rear elocker only 80,000 and was in my opinion a great buy. But what seemed to be a great buy has ended up being a bit of a nightmare at times. When I told my buddy the car came from up north (the rust belt) he looked down in the undercarriage and we noticed all the rust. It didn't look too bad, but when the humidity of South Florida mixes with all that corrosion nothing good comes of it. More on this later on...
First thing I did was remove the running boards and the bushguard (cool look, just not for me)
Couple months of owning it I decided, let's invest in a lift. So then came the wheelers off-road T1 front Coil, the LC 8wraps and bilstein 5100's all around
This is how she's sitting.
After the lift I went to get the alignment. To my disappointment, the mechanic came back with horrible news, because of the corrosion the whole front end needs to be rebuilt, all bushings are done, both cv axles replaced, etc. with out that, the car wasn't going to be able to be aligned. Not just that, but the caster camber kits were welded to the a frame by the previous owner so those had to be cut off. Here come the headaches I was talking about.
Front end rebuilt, and suspension on, it was time for tires.
So General Grabber AT2 in the 285/75r16 flavor were at the mechanic while it was getting rebuilt.
These are going on today. I'll post pictures as soon as they're on!
