So after months of think work and research (alot of googling) I'm finally into the actual building part .....Das 07 T4R SR5
AND BTW!!!! THANKS TO ALL THE MEMBERS ....I've lurked around for information and thanks to all of the questions, posts, and search feature on this I was able to compile information to lift mein auto.....

I picked up this runner early last year and I did some light sand runs and mud trails but didn't get to far and was seriously limited as to where to go so I figured I'd start on suspension ......or so I would have liked ....but then I got into the bike scene for a bit...anyways long story short, I picked up a bike and now I'm back on my runner

As the yota slowly comes together I think I'm going to start posting on this build thread as more of a catalog...from installs to trails and everything in between

Current mods:
-Remote start
-3" lift Bilstein 5100s
-Camburg uniball UCA
-1.5" wheel spacers
-Nitto Ridge Grappler
LT285/75R17
-Body mount chop mod
All installation done by "The Truck Shop" in West Sayville, long island


Wish list:
Lighting need upgrades!
Rock sliders
TRD wheels
Bumpers are tbd
On board air compressor (because F*** slime compressors...I've been left stranded on more than one occasion)

3"Billstein toytec coilovers in front, 2" bilstein 5100 w/ toytec 2.0 Springs in rear. (3/8/16)

3" bilstein lift, camburg uniball UCAs, 1.5" spacers, light body mount chop mod.(12.28.17)

A still get alittle rubbing on the plastics but ....I'm happy with the way she rides he height is good too

Looks like you are off to a good start! I recently installed Bilsteins all around but I went with FJ coils and a rear Toytec spacer.

Im pretty sure Im running 265/70r17 but not 100%. I found the 2016 SR5 wheels with the stock tires on Craigslist for $200.

Im pretty sure Im running 265/70r17 but not 100%. I found the 2016 SR5 wheels with the stock tires on Craigslist for $200.

Oh ok .....hey man as long as it works !.....I was curious because I was trying to scope out sizing options ...but that's pretty cool

Im running the 275-70-17's. Very little to trim on the front fender. I would like to someday go with the 285's. I know that will require either more lift, and or a body lift, and I dont like body lifts as long as there are suspension products I can use instead. When I upgrade my lift to the Camburg Long Travel kit, I should be able to run 285's. But, I wont go there until I can afford to re-gear the rig. I like my power and I lost just a smidge with the 275's, and dont want to lose another bit of HP & TQ.
Im currently running the new BFG A/T KO2's and I love the heck out of them. They work very well for my type of wheeling. Next go around, I might go with a little more aggressive tire like the TOYO Open Country M/T or the BFG M/T. I love the overall grip of my A/T's, but only sometimes could I use just a little more forward or uphill bite, but not quite enough. I love my new KO2's.

Sweet ....I was thinking going 285 as soon as I get the lift but I'm still not too sure lol I know for a fact I'll have the 265 stock tires for a bit ....I saw the Lt kits ....those things are awesome that's a definite goal for me some day ... do desert runs at some point but for now just Beach runs maybe some mild trails ...I just gotta test out the upgrades soon see how far I can push mein truck lol

Do you have any tire recommendation questions needed answering? Choosing the right tire tread design/pattern is one of the most overlooked things when it comes to building the right rig to do the job you want it. A crappy quality and tread design can make a well equipped truck not wheel worth a dam. I have a great story of karma, experience and tire choice that will crack anybody up.

Not totally sure yet... Starting with Moog coils all around for a FJ TTUE.. The shocks and struts for now are just the yellow Bilsteins (just replaced them maybe 5K ago)... with Daystar 1.5" rear spacer.

Well as far as treads go I'm looking at the general grabbers AT2s I think that's the best compromise I see in terms of grip and street ability...no ? Would you recommend anything else .....I mean I like mud tires ...but I don't need those ....I don't think

Smart man! The first step is realizing your needs in truck and tire. The General A/T 2 is a true wolf in sheeps clothing. It has a great tread compound with good off road grip in all weather and terrain conditions as long as they are aired down. The next best aggressive A/T tire for overall on road and off road conditions would be the new BFG A/T KO2. Not the old version. The new version has a great new tread compound and has awesome grip in all conditions, again when aired down properly. Deep mud is not the place for either tire, but then again, if you plan on mud bogging there are plenty of tires for just that. You will be very happy with either the Generals, or the BFG. Ive ran both. At times yes, I could use the little extra bite from that of a mug tire in deep gravel, dirt or mud, but more often the A/T has been the perfect choice. Remember, the key to great grip is airing down. I finally broke down and purchased a top notch air compressor which helps air up in just minutes. Ive always had those 30 dollar plug in compressors that take a long time, but finally stepped up to a real unit. Now Im kicking myself for not doing this years ago.

Awesome so ok I think I'll stick with the AT2s....imma not looking to get into any crazy trails yet... As far as an air compressor goes I think I'm gonna go the on board route ....just trying to map the wiring in my head. ....I'm looking at the ARB heavy duty one air compressor and it gives me a chance to upgrade to airlockers if I want to in the future ....my little monster is a slow yet steady work in progress lol

Ok so it's been a while since I've last updated the build thread and I figured I got new upgrades going on the runner might as well post em up, but since my last post my steering rack started leaking, and my ball joins are pretty much shot so I figured HEY what better time to start upgrading than now!!!!.....soooo I just have parts sitting till the 20th

2" spacers and camburg uniball UCA

Regular steering rack

Also have on order a set of tires to go on same day as the other parts
NITTO Ridge grappler LT285/75/17
(I don't have a picture of the tires)

The runner went into the shop with the intentions of getting new tires along with the steering rack, spacers and upper control arms

.....everything but the tires went on the truck for whatever reason the 285/75's was too big and I needed to do A LOT of cutting, so decided on the 285/70's. I'm going back on the 29th to get them put on. Can't wait!!
