how centered were you able to get your bike relative to the vehicle?

I would guess that it's maybe 6 inches from center (towards the driver side). I expected this would bother me, and I would figure out how to offset the rack, but it really didn't feel like a big deal once I got it on. It may be visibly offset when you look straight on from the back, but it's not like it sticks out way past the side mirror and the bike is going to get clipped. I'll almost certainly end up leaving it the way it is.

Okay, good to know. In fact, my last two racks have actually made my bikes stick out to the passenger side a little which has only ever made me clip anything one time, so this might actually compensate for that a little. Thanks.

I like this rack but dont like that it is not tow rated. I like that it has all the modifications available (or soon to come). But its also brand new and more costly. Ended up finding a wilco high clearance on ebay for a nice price, and like that it can tow, but dislike that the bike rack wont swing (although not a huge deal, just have to figure out a way so that the swing arm can still move with the rack in place).

The wedge sticks out 1.5cm (.59 inches) from tow. Measure your stock spare to the tow hitch for the answer. I have the Cooper STT Maxx 255/80/17 and I guarantee that I couldnt fit the spare under there with the tire carrier on.

I was able to meet up with Luke from [MENTION=270549]rigdsupply[/MENTION] (photo credit) this weekend in Death Valley and grab my UltraSwing. Certainly gave it a solid breaking in with 50+ miles of dirt & rock and another almost 1000 miles on the road. We did Lippincott Pass while I had a full size spare, bike rack, bike, and 20L fuel can on the UltraSwing, and I couldn't hurt it. The wedge system that tightens it in the receiver is stout. It feels like it's welded on. Happy :hat:

I just ratchet strapped a scepter can to the frame of the tire carrier. It was pretty tight. Rotopax fits easily though, and the Rotopax attachments can bolt right on existing holes on the UltraSwing.

I did 50+ miles of a significant off road workout the first day I put it on (with plenty of weight on it) and the thing still felt like it was welded on at the end of the day. Couldn't say the same for my bike rack. It rattled almost to pieces. Not sure what your definition of high speed is, but I don't see how it would rattle around more at 50+mph on smooth sand than normal speed on very rough terrain.

Thanks for the feedback. I am hoping to see some video one of these days or spot one out in the desert. Sounds like its solid but having a visual aid would go a long way for them in sales. I also MTB so having something that I can load up my bike on is key.

Almost a grand just to carry a spare...definitely looks well built, but using the stock spare location or on top of a rack for the same price, that can be used to carry several other things in addition to the spare is significantly more pragmatic IMO....Pass!

We wouldn't pay over a grand just to carry a spare tire either. That's why we built the UltraSwing to also be a swing out for your bike rack, a camp table, Rotopax mount, Hi-Lift, Waterport, or anything else you can think of mounting to the UltraSwing using the UltraPlate.

Great choice! We're big fans of C4, we're actually a dealer and do installs. If rear-end protection is enough of a priority, that you're willing to add the 250+ lbs of weight, then it's definitely the right call.

For a lot of people out there, their 4Runner is used for a lot of other activities and types of trips than just wheeling hard. Whether it's carrying bikes, camping, or wanting to go fast off-road, the UltraSwing can be a much better alternative than a replacement bumper for those applications.

Got mine last month with the camp table option and just love it. Live nearby so the guys over at Rigd installed it for me as well as relocating the license plate. I found a light for the license plate at Pep Boys and wired it to the 4 pin trailer plug under the truck (just zip tied the cable to the Rigd Ultraswing). Went with the Baja Rack Ladder as it makes it easier to access the roof with the center tire carrier left in place.

thats why I had a local fab shop build mine, ZERO wobble welded to the rear crossmember and much less.

Anyone aware of a semi-long term review of this product? I'm ordering a 33 gallon aux tank for my 5th gen T4R and would need a carrier for the spare wheel and some Rotopax Water Packs. I recognize that a full rear bumper replacement would be a more durable option but my needs and usage does not justify that sort of investment.

Thanks for sharing this. I really like how close this one fits, versus the RIGd UltraSwing. It would be nice however if this particular unit allowed for a bike rack to swing out with the tire, like the UltraSwing. Do you have a link where you purchased this one? This is a great option, especially for those not needing the bike rack option.
