So what does everyone think about this light bar?

Rigid 40" LED Bar

I'm looking for somethign that's got a small footprint and will fit in nice with my truck. Money isn't a huge issue and you can get these off eBay for close to $1000.

I'd be using it for back roads and camping and a little bit of mountain offroading.

$1k on a light bar seems a little excessive to me. No doubt it would put out an insane amount of light.. but do you really want $1k sitting on your roof just waiting to get torn off?

I'm not that worried about it really. I have a garage and never really leave my car anywhere and theft really isn't a problem where I live. I don't see it being any different than paying $400+ for some good HID lights and another $300+ for something to mount them on.

What's another option with 14000+ lumens that will fit with my Baja rack?

Those LED lightbars make good flood lights, but they do not throw light very far. If you want distance, HID's are the way to go.

I know someone who has a smaller one and although it is bright it was ultimately just made into a backup light since the distance was so limited.

Do you know what the size and make was? These ones have flood lenses on the edges and spotlights in the center. The uTube videos look pretty good, blew away the stock headlight and high beams for distance ad width but there was no comparison against a regular light bar so I don't know how they stand up.

Why not get some Hella 700s and retro fit HIDs in them? Those will be really bright and a fraction of the cost.

I know someone who has a set that he would be willing to part with.

You could mount four of those for around $280 and have 20,000 lumens.

I am interested in retrofitting 3000k HID bulbs into Hella 700s, do you have a link where I can read on how to do this? Thanks.

I have no clearance in my underground garage so it's got to be level with my rack. I only have the smaller sized Baja so I wonder how much I'll lose with the light bar set so far back...

Maybe I'd be better off mounting them in front of the grill
