Rigid LED Spot Light Recomendations

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at getting a set of the CBI ditch light brackets and pairing them with a set of Rigid spotlights on my 01 4Runner. Right now I've got stock headlights and fog lights, and a 37" LED light bar up front in a combo beam pattern with spot and flood lights on the outer edges. I'm looking for something with a little more distance though. The LED bar does a great job lighting up right in front of me, but my high beams still reach just a tad further than the light bar and I'd like to be able to fill that void with these spot lights.

So my question is which should I go with: the hyperspot Rigids or the regular spot ones?

Does anyone have experience with the hyperspots? I haven't really been able to find very much on them.

I also really like amber lights, but I assume that amber spot lights mounted on the ditch lights wouldn't make much sense would it?

Are you stuck on Rigid?

Vision X LED Cannons in 4.5" 25 watt would probably do you right.

Just ordered my ditch brackets and those are the lights I will be running.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I'm not stuck on Rigid, they just seemed like a good option. Those lights look great and are would do exactly what I'm looking for, but they're a little out of my price range.
 
I thought about going with cheaper ones, but I'd like to try a set of good ones first and see how they compare. The light bar I have on the front is an Avec one, sold by a guy on TacomaWorld and it's also very bright. I would consider the Avec ones middle of the road with the ebay ones below and the Rigids/Vision X/etc above. The first one I had got water in it so I sent it back for an exchange. The second one also got water in it, but since it warmed up outside the water went away and hasn't gone back. Not sure why, but whatever... Anyway, I just ordered the ditch light brackets so the only thing left to decide on is the actual lights themselves.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Any comparisons of the spots and hyperspots? Apparently the regular spots are 10* beams and the hyperspots are 5* beams. I don't really know what this means for a real life application though, other than the hyperspots will be narrower.
 
I have a set of Rigid D2s in the Driving pattern and they outreach my low beams, no personal experience with the Hyperspots though. I would also look at Baja Designs Squadron Pros, BD has multiple beam patterns and the quality and light output is incredible. I have a single BD Squadron Pro in amber as a rear dust light.

If i didnt already own the D2s i would buy a pair of Squadron Pros for the front of my rig.

The hyperspot is a tighter beam pattern than the spot, it is also driven at a higher power. The distance and useable light will be much greater with the hyperspot.

For A-Pillars facing forward, you want the Rigid Hyperspot.

Another mention was the Vision X cannons. These are THE PERFECT light for the A-Pillar, but yes they race quality parts and demand a higher price.

I was actually on their webpage earlier looking around. I like the looks of their lights too, but they're a little too pricey for me as well. I always thought Rigids were about as expensive as they got, but I guess I was wrong. Thanks for the input though!

Thanks! I'm very interested in these MRT lights now. I've never heard of them. How do these MRT lights compare to the Vision X Canons and the Rigid Hyperspots?

Do they come with a wiring harness like the Rigids do? How much does a pair run without the brackets since I just placed my order for the brackets with CBI earlier today?

No one has really heard of them yet as we just released them in March, but everyone who has used them are blown away with the performance.

They shine 900ft @ 1 lux, Vision X will do 1000ft. Rigid Hyperspot will do 900ft as well, but with a 5 degree beam, where as are is 10 degree. That means at 900 ft, the beam is almost 20ft wider!

225 w/ CBI Brackets, 195 w/o them. Kit includes a pair of lights, a wiring harness, stainless hardware, diffused amber light covers for bad weather. You can purchase them direct from us.

Our friends at MRT build them in Las Vegas, offer a 3 year unlimited warranty and take great pride in these lights. They also offer a host of accessories for them.

BD makes such awesome equipment. Very cool people working there too!
 
Well you have peaked my interest haha. I really liked those Vision X's that Mike posted, but the price was a little too much for me. If these are almost as good as those and at least as good as the Rigids I'm very interested. I'm about to shoot you a PM.

They dont have the same range because of the chip used and the % they are driven at, but are just-as/more durable than Vision X and as good/better than the Rigid at light performance. Rated as IP69k equivalents. Got your PM! We will get you setup with the best possible system for your needs.

I would suggest saving up then if possible, these lights are amazing quality, and already have a very low price. Lights similar to this cost a good bit more.
