RIP my friend

Well... On Tuesday of this week my 4runner and I responded to our last fire call. :sobbing: :sobbing: :sobbing: :sobbing: :sobbing:

Details:
I was walking into my office from lunch when we (Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department) received a call to respond to an electrical fire at a church. I responded to that fire and returned to work. When I got back to my desk at work, I didn't have enough time to sit down and we received another call to respond to a fire alarm at a local business. Because of the second call I got to the parking lot in time to see :bugeye: my 4runner burst into flames. I was able to get to my burning 4runner in time to push it away from the other vehicles in the parking lot. However, the 4runner is now toast. RIP my friend.

The Saturday before I had just put a new set of "Hunting" Tires (Super Swamper LTB 34x10.5-16) and Rims (new Tundra take-offs) on her. She "was" looking goooood! Now she is Toast :( I had even had a new Marlin Crawler Clutch on order for her. By the next oil change she would have rolled over 300,000 miles

I have already found a new home for her, though. I gave her remains to one of the engineers here and he has a Nissan Diesel he plans to install. I hope he is able to. It would be nice to see her running again.

She was daily driver so I am now in the market for another one. It will take me a couple or few months to save up the money to get another one. Until then I will drive my backup, the 1990 Isuzu Trooper. Definitely not as sexy as the 4runner, but should get me where I need to go.

To replace her, I will be looking for my "Holy Grail" of 4runners.... A second generation with a 4cyl & 5speed. If I can't fine that I will be looking at other 2nd gen 4runners (must be 5spd) and Fj80 Land Cruisers.

Other considerations are:
- Mid 90's Chevy Z71 ext cab with 5spd. - I really could use a Pickup that can carry the family.
- 1997 or 1998 Land Rover Discovery - My wife would "LOVE" to get one of these, but I don't know if I want to risk getting a POS. I have heard that these are great if you get a good one, and an absolute nightmare if you don't - no in-between.
