Rizzels_Runner Build Thread

Thanks man! Ya stay tuned for more!
A credit card and goo gone works wonders man haha. But yes i took all the emblems off the rear except for the stock toyota emblem in its original place but i painted it trim black and then bought a TRD emblem badge to finish it off haha. But just to make you aware, the emblems just from vibration and touching the paint on the surface of the car causes the paint to wear and chip to the exact shape of the emblems. I recommend using rubbing compound to get rid of the fading underneath and then wax to fade the color back in. After doing that it should look great other than maybe seeing some outlining close up still

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of I like the look but I don't want messed up paint underneath or left over glue that won't come off(that's what happened on my first car)

When we gonna get a write up on those mirrors??? :frog:
I was thinking of retro fitting FJC mirrors, but these look interesting....

Who owns that white Chevy? Reason I ask is because we used to own one with the same wheels, tires, same lift and same white sticker on the left side of the back window. Can't be too many trucks like that rolling around CA.

Creativity points on the mirrors, don't see that everyday.

well if theres to much paint missing you can just pop them back on haha and Use Goo Gone its amazing! soak it with that and just rub and rub and itll eventually come off thats the best way man

Yes, I'd love to get a set of those mirrors! Get to moving before someone else does it themselves and exploits the hell out of it!

Back in the saddle

Wow its been almost more than a year since I have even been on the site seeing what everyone has been doing. It's awesome to see how far a lot of people's 4runner have progressed lately. I was excited to see rip cord back in the game again to. Anyways its been a long crazy awesome year. I met the love of my life, graduated high school, the head blowing up on the 4runner and nearly thinking of selling her off due to money issues and getting married in all just a little over a year and a half. The 4runner had to be put on the back burner a little but now that everything has slowed down and I have a job that can actually help build the 4runner up I'm super excited to get started. First couple things on my list are actual lift no more spacers, getting my sliders finally welded on after sitting for two years and saving up for 33s. I will be posting along the way and sharing the journey with everyone here. Thanks again for the time to look at the thread and I hope you enjoy the upcoming progress.

BJ explosion

Alright so it's been crazy over the last year and haven't done much of anything with the 4Runner other than dd and maintenance. Well sadly last Saturday I had my passenger side lower ball joint fail. Luckily the damage done is not that bad. This is going to be a fresh start for the 4Runner so I'm excited. Been going through the forums heavily again checking up and seeing what everyone's been up to and man I have a lot of catching up to do. My plans include Toytec boss coilovers up front with either Camburg or Light racing UCAs,super flex coils in the rear with bilstein 5100 shocks and an upgrade in tires from 31s to 33s. I'm praying the quote from a shop won't total it out through insurance and I can get a check cut and start doing work!

discount tire is awesome!

So i have been waiting the last week and half dealing with my insurance to get back to me about the accident and whats going to happen. In the mean time i had contacted discount tire where i originally purchased my tires almost three years ago now and asked about the certificates that i had originally purchased. Long store short i now have 4 brand new tires on the way from them!

Crap happens

Well i went hiatus again after having a LBJ fail over a year ago.
Insurance didn't total the 4runner but the money they did give me was only enough to repair the extensive damage that was caused by the failure.
Repaired the damage and got the 4runner back to the way it was before the accident and then sold to a buddy of mine. He had it for about 7 months before totaling the vehicle. I bought it back to him knowing that the damage done could be repaired. I know lots of you on here want updates and info on how to make the FJ style mirrors so the easiest way for me to do that would be for you to message me on Instagram(Razzel_pics). I love this forum, the amount of information and pure entertainment is amazing but i honestly cant find the time to tediously write a build thread and constantly update it. So if you would like information look me up on Instagram(Razzel_pics) and i would be more than happy to give you details on the mirrors and you can also check in on the work happening on the 4runner. Just purchased a donor truck to pull all of my parts for repairing the structural damage.
Thanks everyone
