When i' driving, i hate people who cut me off, I have wicked road rage. However, if its a 4runner/Taco, its not a problem. I let them in. My passenger said i'm really nice to 4runners but messed up to other cars. Does anyone else feel this way?

I tend to give 4runner alot more slack than regular cars. More even if the 4runner driver is a hot chic.

In return I expect a wave or a nod, if I dont' get it I get pissed off and am more likely not to do it again the next time..

I guess we can all have road rage at some points but I always let lots of things slide cause, 1-I don't want to get shot and 2-I don't want my car damaged or to have people follow me and then damage my car:

Maybe I don't look at it the same but my driving style is laid back and I drive 1 way in the suburbs and another in the city, Im more relaxed in the city.

Now I don't really know what cutting someone off is, have I done it maybe but I don't really think so, to cut someone off is to have to cause them to slam on the breaks to prevent hitting you, but here in the burbs, I've merged infront of people with enough stopping room for a big rig and 2 seconds later Mary Kay in her mini van is riding my bumper with 3 kids in cars seats tryin to run me off the road.

I don't get it, I remember that safety driving video with Pluto and how his attitude changes when he gets behind the wheel of the car but once he leaves the car he's nice again: asides from that I had a run in or 2 where I was in a parking lot and some guy almost hit me cause they where speeding and I caused them to stop, almost hitting me, their idiots and it's my fault.

1 time an SL55 AMG with temp tags, stopped maybe a foot off my 4Runner when it was a month old the guy was a valet and moving through the mall parking lot at probably 100 after it just rained, guess he thought he was a hard ass cause he got out of the car and wanted to fight so I got out, started walking towards him and he took off for the mall, I called the cops on that 1 cause he left a brand new MB AMG sitting 50 feet off the street with the door open and the keys in it, when the cop showed up I gave him the info and turns out the kid, well guy called in a car theft with my description, fockin putz, cops asked me what I would do, I told them inform the Benz owner and give the kid as many tickets as possible, not smart to drive a car you don't own through a parking lot at those speeds: the cops laughed and wrote like 18 points worth of tickets and asked me if I wanted to make an appearance in court, I said sure contact me when the time comes.

Another parking lot incident was some guy in a red Grand Cherokee, driving through the mall parking lot and Im on the right with 2 women on my right so I can't drive ontop of them, their walking next to the cars, he comes driving towards me in my lane, looking at me honking, Im like where the fock am I suppost to go, I know he could tell what I was saying cause he looks at me and flips me off so he crawls past me and I hop out and bang on the rear window, yelling hey luis (spanish guy with slick back hair ) are you focking serious, so he took off, I should have follwed him cause the parking lot was crowded with no spots but I left, I guess turning the wheel to avoid oncoming traffic and stay in your lane is becoming to hard for certain people:bash:

I am usually cool headed behind the wheel. Somebody has to really do something dumb(cuts me off as in almost taking my fender off, tailgating, flash lights etc.) to tick me off. Anyway, if somebody angers me at night, I give them the brights. During the day, I express my emotions through either the window or sunroof! Tailgating makes me the most angry. Just today, I had two different cars tailgating me in traffic. I either go very slow, brake check, or accelerate hard to give them the rotten egg smell. I am another one who lets fellow 4Runner's/Tacomas get away with more slack. I always let them in front of me and let them out of parking lots. Only once in my life did I start up with a fellow 4Runner because he went to pass me on the right in the shoulder.

The thing that always cracks me up is when somebody in a sedan tries and blinds me with the brights. I feel like getting out of my truck and telling them not to waste their bulbs! I hope they enjoy seeing the lights reflect off of my undercarriage!

I am a road rage afficiando you could say ~LOL~ I live in an area where once you get your licence, you NEVER have to re-test again...and it shows with the drivers! Beleive it or not, insurance rates here are higher than in LA! No one uses turn signals, unless they are driving along a straight road with no turns for several miles...or they have a left signal going in a right turn lane. 3 way stop signs are impossable for most of these people...it would be a riot if I did not have to drive among them!

Tonight, I am trying to merge left to get to the turn lane, and this dumb-donkey ( can I say that for real in here?) behind me ignores my blinker, swerves around me, then gets back into my lane once he is past! Whattadork!

I am much easier on other 4R drivers, but I do notice (at least here) there is not as much of a community as for other brands (ie. VW). But when I do run across another Toyota-head, it is a good thing.

Guess I need to mount on of these:goinposta to my truck!

My view is I don’t turn onto a street or merge into traffic in front of anyone unless I can do so without them having to apply their breaks or remove their foot from the gas pedal. Anyone that turns onto a street in front of me or merges into my lane and causes me to shut down the cruise, remove my foot from the gas, or worst, cause me to have to apply my break has cut in front of me without leaving an adequate and courteous amount of room to do so. Drivers that cut in front of me like this piss me off, but I wouldn’t say I get road rage. I don’t lay on the horn, flash my lights, or pull in front of them and cut them off. I just slow down and think to my self that they are a-holes.

One reason I bought my 4Runner (and not a sports car) was to relinquish my anger while driving.

In my last car I'd sometimes become irritated by the stupidty of others, and join them. I would not permit anyone to cut me off, if they did, I'd return the favor. I'd box other people in. I would constantly check my rearview for aggressive drivers.


I've decided it is not worth my time and energy, gas, or wear on my transmission and brakes. The 4Runner does not attract much attention. I ignore the occasional domestic driving redneck, or someone with little/big truck syndrome.

LMAO, love your emotcon. I am also a very lay back guy/driver. I have to be since I am alway packin heat, was a LEO for several years and if someone is driving crazy I get far away from them. I think most people are good/nice and you never know what they are going through when they are acting nuts. I am also a big guy 5'10" 200lbs (love to pump the iron) I don't think your size matters when you are being threatened with a 5000 lb vehicle.

I have to try hard some times not to get out of my vehicle and offer a lesson on ass whoopin, but for the most part I keep my cool.

I must say though, when I get old and to the point that they are going to take my license away from me. I'm going to get a real old beater truck and weld a guardrail all the way around the car. I will then hit the streets and all of the idiots that cut you off and cause hell in traffic will be nice streaks of colours on my nice guardrail. I will have to see how many different colours of paint smears I can get.

I will have my revenge then. For now, I will just bite my lip and laugh.

One overwhelming reason to keep your cool in St. Louis, we now have a concealed carry law, and under that law, you can have a concealed weapon in your car whether you have a permit or not. That means that any unstable nutcase can legally have a gun in their car. (not that the nutcases didn't before)

I used to have a really bad temper whenever someone cut me off, or pulled some bonehead move. I'm older now, and have a family, and I realized that as long as the other driver didn't hit me, it's really not worth it to risk my life to try to teach this idiot a lesson. I'm not a small guy (6', 190), but I don't stand a chance against a 4000lb car or a .357.

What always floors me is the amount of women that try to retailiate after they have been cut-off. That is simply insane. I have always told my wife, as long as they don't hit you, just let it go. BUt when you have a conceal carry permit you may carry the weapon just about anywear. Certin busineses have rules as well as schools and large areas of pubic gatherings.
NOt tryin to be a dick, but I helped get that issue on the ballots in MO, I am still a MO resident, but I am stationed in MD>.... Just FYI, hope that helps....

THE BEST THREAD I HAVE SEEN

I was driving into city, via. holland tunnel about a month or so ago. The traffic was really bad, so when i hit the roadway 1 and 9 i decided to flip it around and go back home. No way i was going to wait 45 min, to get into the city

So, the two lanes merge into 1 by the traffic light, and i stay my ground, as some J.O. in a red, (yes red corvette with a black leather jacket, and a pair of aviators on) tries getting into my lane, when there was clearly only room for me and the yota. So, he gets up real close to the bumper, as if i was going to let his azz in. So, i obviously go up real close to him so he has to slam on the brakes. And he does.

Then i see the door open up, and he gets out and approaches my vehicle. Now, i hate fighting, (even though i kinda know how to). and he is almost at the back door, when i chuck open the drivers side door, and he stops dead in his tracks. Mind you i am 6'3 ish, and his little guido azz was like 5'5 and 140 soaking wet. He just looks up and says, i'm gunna take your azz out. I think the fact that i just looked down at him and said nothing really bothered him. So, after some more speaking on his part and nothing on mine, a passerby screamed out of his car" hay litle man, i wouldn't ef with that guy, he'll put you in a shallow grave". He then screams and chases the other guy. Man was his g/f embarassed by him

And that is my story. But, every once in a while, i will tailgate someone in the left lane that is doing 55. but most of the time i just go around them

Here is the Missouri state law and it does state that you can carry a concealed weapon loaded or unloaded in your car if you legally own the weapon. I have a CCW permit for the state of Missouri and took the class from a Sheriff Sargent and LT. and when we discussed the law they were also asked to clarify what we were reading and they both stated that this was true. I use to live in Georgia and it was the same there. I don't have a problem with anyone that is not a convicted felon carrying a weapon. Criminals carry weapons and they don't care if there is a law agains't them carrying a concealed weapon. Hell a car is a big weapon and almost everyone drives them.

Im glad you laughed cause til this day Im still confused as to what the reasoning as to why he did what he did.

When it happened it was like slow motion, I was like 600 miles and he's gonna T-Bone my truck right at the front right passenger tire, for a brief second I was glad it would be totalled:

He got out and was going off and told me he was gonna teach me how to drive so I got out and said lets go and he ran back to the mall

I did look up the car and the SL55 had a base price of 120k, why did the guy valet it at the mall, I don't know but then again driving through the parking lots where most cars are SUV, FullSizers and the run of the mill DD, Camcords and such I've seen Rolls Royces, 1 was parked between 2 beater hondas

When I was younger I would beat the hell out of anyone but after working for a year in a Toyota Dealer, when I was 17 and I realized how many people have guns tucked under the drivers seat I decided unless the guy practically kills me then I'll get upset:

I just don't want to get shot for something stupid and many road rage encounters are really just accidental, really stupid to overreact to such things, for instance I merged infront of a guy in my ES300, he was driving a multi color POS Explorer, plenty of room, traffic moving at 5-15mph and soon as I got infront of him the guy must have had a panic attach or the meds stop working cause I thought, "you got to be kidding" he gunned the truck several times and then locked the brakes up, I really don't understand his problem but it looked like his gf was tryin to calm him down, he never tormented me but I think the guy had problems, I got off at my exit and he passed me like nothing ever happened:arrow:

Sweet, I had a similiar problem at the toll booth plaza before the triboro bridge, guy almost slams into me doing 60 when the EZ Pass lane has a 5mph limit, spanish guy hops out, probably 5 feet tall and is telling me what my problems are so I got out and his attitude changed and he got back in his Caravan and left.

Im 6'2 and weigh in at 250 right now, tryin to thin out my waist cause it's measures at 40inches but my chest and shoulders I wear anything from a 48L-54L depending on the cut, the last suit I bought the guy was like you get any bigger and we can't dress you:arrow:

I really don't want to have to go to a big and tall store cause it's really just fat and fatter
