Hey guys, I'm in need of some mechanical help.
My job this summer was staffing Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. On one of my days off, I took a trip to one of the camps in the back country. It was an 11 mile unpaved road, with multiple cattle guards and about 2/3rds of the road is washboard.
When I was leaving the camp, my car wouldn't crank at all. I'd turn the ignition and all electronics would cut out. I re-did the terminals on the battery thinking they might have wiggled loose on the road and there wasn't a good contact. I finally got it started and got of the road onto a state highway. Problem was, even with the pedal all the way down, I couldn't get higher than maybe 50 mph @ 3500 rpms (you could tell the car was struggling hard).
It also did it again on the way into town about an hour ago, though stopped right before I got to the place for dinner.
Anyone know what may be wrong? I was thinking maybe the computer, but I am not mechanically savy at all
