Road Trip

I am leaving today to take the 4runner on it's 2nd road trip. Leaving from home and ending up in Colorado Springs. At least that is the plan. Mapquest says its a 9.5 hour drive.

I was just curious if anyone has any do's or don'ts when taking that long of a drive. The plan is to drive straight through only stopping for the occasional bathroom break and for gas.

Make sure your spare tire is inflated. It'd suck if you got a flat in the middle of nowhere with a no good spare. Of course having the necessary emergency supplies is always good to have on a road trip. Have fun!

I'd recommend taking a break every two to three hours or so for 10-15 minutes. It gives the truck a break, don't really think it'll need it, but more importantly, it gives the driver a chance to rest and relieve fatigue. I usually stretch and walk around for a few minutes.

Other than that, top off fluids (probably won't need any since it's a new truck) maybe just washer fluid, first aid kit and what sharp4runr recommeds.
