Rock sliders or Wheels spacers???

Ive got $200 to spend on either wheel spacers or Trail Gear rock sliders. I can drive the 4Runner just fine. Being carefull not to turn it at full lock. Going on a run in June. Should I get the sliders or the spacers?

From what I've read, those TG sliders aren't all that great. My suggestion, go for sliders. jacob_wood has a set of rocky road sliders for sale in the classifieds section. I've spoke with him about shipping, wasn't too crazy. You could get those for a little more money and they'd be MUCH more durable. Being able to turn at full lock would be a plus, but you can live without that. Sliders can save you from some serious body damage that would be much more costly to get repaired.

I agree that the sliders will prevent damage, but if the scrubbing is as bad on 285s as I've read, it seems like they could cause some pretty serious damage off road without spacers.

Being cautious of turning is ok on the street but there are times off road where the ruts are gonna point your tires the direction they want them regardless of how carefull you're trying to be (and more violently/quickly than you'd turn in any normal driving).

Also I'm not sure how strong those rocky road super sliders are without the reinforcing from the body (since the slider to body mounts were cut off). They only have two small legs running to the frame because of the extra reinforcement they were designed with (that has been cut off on that set). Most other brands use at least 3 legs (larger legs). I think the trail gear sliders would be stronger than that particular set.

In my mind it would be pretty easy to fab up the supports. The TG sliders aren't a direct bolt fit, they'd need some fabrication to fit so it goes both ways.

B/C ou are going to Harlan to wheel a few weeks, sliders no doubt about it. I've got Hanna's on mine. I would look at marlin's weld on kit or 4xinovations(sp) and leave TG as my last resort.

I'm in Pleasant Ridge, I'm not going to Harlan this time around. I do have a lift in my garage waiting to be installled on the 4runner. I usually wheel my FJ40 though but my buddy is helping me put in a RockBox.
