Put trimmed rockers back on after sliders??
I have Shrockworks sliders on order and MAY cut my rockers and put them back on my Limited, but I want to see it first with sliders on but without the rockers. So, my question is...
Is it possible to put the TRIMMED rockers back on AFTER slider installation? Or do the sliders block me from being able to do that?
Couldn't find via search...

any one have any pics of what rocker panel delete or cut looks like?
i've seen delete maybe on 2 sr5.. but could not even find one pic of a rocker panel cut..
really would like to see more pics of delete and or cut before i take a knife to it

yep, i followed antman's guide on cutting the rocker for my nfab install
if you dont have a grinder and dremel with some grinding wheels works just as well (i used mine at 100% power: 30,000 rpm) and it did get hot but it got the job done
i cut about 1.8 inches from the chrome strip (antman did 1 3/4) and just use a measuring tape.
ive attached two pics of the 4runner without the rocker, but unfortunately i dont have any with the cut rocker at the moment
i will say that with it cut it looks much more finished

Also, when the rockers are cut, can anyone confirm that there is still enough room to stand on them to access roof rack? Mike's look really close with his cut panels, but it could be the camera angle. This question is specific to Schrockworks sliders on a LTD or SR5. Thanks!

Quick question: I was under the impression that trimming the panels would eliminate the chrome strip, but it looks like you'd have to cut off wayyyyy too much in order for them to be part of the "discarded" portion. Is that the case?
I'll probably do it anyway because I really like those NFabs, but the elimination of the chrome strip was a potential bonus.

Glad the writeup helped you out Ron! That's what T4R's all about, right?
If you cut above the chrome strip, you will end up with essentially the same look as leaving the rocker off completely. Think about it- the chrome is located directly under the door opening. There's always vinyl or pastidip to lose that chrome... -Ant

When I tried that on my limited, I had to loosen the sliders (shrockworks) in order to have enough clearance to rotate them into place.
My experiment with cutting can be found in my build thread ; as well as the trail edition plastic I eventually went with.

Did you have to loosen the Shockworks slider in order to install the TE rocker panels too? I ask because I completely removed my SR5 rockers and was considering replacing them with the TE rockers but my sliders are welded in place so I will not be able to loosen them.

I'm experimenting with the plasti-dip. I had to use it on a kydex holster last weekend and it worked out fairly well. Once I get better at it, I'll give it a shot.

I had my sliders off when I installed the TE rockers and front fender. You do need to replace the fender trim when you go with the TE rocker because they align differently between pieces. Since the TE plastic is way narrower I would suspect you are fine, but I can't confirm ...
