Hello everyone! I wanted to start a thread for my new 4Runner. I've had three 3rd Gens in the past including this one.

DSC_0092.jpg

Which I sold to buy this huge pile of regret.

DSC_0259.jpg

Not sure what I was thinking other than wanting something with better MPG which was nice.....for a couple months. Then I really missed my 4R.

I knew I wanted a 5th gen so I started researching and decided I wanted an SR5 Trail Edition in Magnetic Grey. I couldnt afford a brand new one so I was on the hunt for a used '14 and this one finally popped up about a half hour from me. A 2014 Magnetic Grey Trail Edition with 38k on the odometer for a good price so I pulled the trigger. So happy I did! This thing is unbelievable! Way more spacious feeling than my 3rd gen and all the off-road goodies are amazing! Rear diff lock, Terrain Select, and Crawl Control....Sweet!

The day I brought her home

The first thing I did was tint all the side windows 20% Madico film. (This is my profession so I did it myself.)

I also wrapped the front silver bumper in satin black vinyl.

I still need to do a full clear bra wrap to protect from rock chips and striping.

My near-future plans include:

Black TRD Pro Wheels
TRD Pro grill
Gobi Rack
Lighting upgrade

Distant future plans include:

ICON or ToyTec Suspension upgrade
Southern Style rear bumper

Etc,etc....

Thanks for looking and stay tuned! I cant wait to take this thing out in the mud!

Welcome back and great decision on selling the Jeep. That 3rd gen is dope, is it a manual? Hood scooped 3rd gens are rad, always think about getting one and supercharging it.

Thanks, it was an auto. They're great trucks. I may get another one some day.

Bump for a fellow MGM owner. You should check out the group buy section for suspension stuff.... just sayin ;)

OH did you use a heat gun for your vinyl wrapping stuff? I am about to do mine and I got a gun to help form the vinyl in the hard to get cracks

Yeah Ive been keeping my eye on it. It might be awhile before I lift it.....famous last words.
The heat gun is a must, but you need to be careful with it. If you heat it up too much it will stretch really nice but will usually peel back later. I pieced in the 2 edges, then wrapped the main piece and overlapped the sides about a 1/4"

Welcome back.....now, we're all going to want to know what drove you from the Jeep so fast. (Pleas God don't let this question bring back the thread that we're all dreading)

Since I drive roughly 60-70 miles a day my lifted 3rd gen was killing me, sometimes only getting 14-15 mpg. So I thought I would buy the Jeep which does get great mpg (around 24 on hwy). But no 4WD, only the AWD system. And I missed being able to go on trails and go 4 wheeling. Just something about the 4R that I love.

Took the 4R out on some easy trails this weekend. Quite impressed on ride quality and its abilities with the stock suspension. I love these Duratracs!

I also ordered some HIDs from Xenonsupply.

I'm starting off with some cheap/free mods first.

I installed some Infinity Reference speakers up front. They sound a lot better. Probably not as good as the Kappas but I couldnt find those anywhere.

Than I installed a "custom Homelink system"

Then I installed an HID kit from XenonSupply. I did the 6000k low beams and 4300k fogs. Im pretty satisfied. Quite a bit brighter than stock.

After hitting the trails I got a few "Colorado Pinstripes" so I had the truck detailed. They did some paint correction/polish/sealant.

My plan now is to wrap the entire sides and hood with paint protection film. That way I wont have to worry about the scratches.

Also I ordered these....

And I will be getting my lift installed next week. Toytec 3" with rear Superflex springs and Bilstein 5100 shocks. :thumb3:
