Roof rack colors/trailor question

Ok I have two questions maybe some of you guys can anwser..

First I have an 03 Galactic Grey Limited V8.. My roof rack color is the metallic silver.. Ive seen other on the road with a black roof rack.. What color are your roof racks.

Is there a special wireing harness/adapter to plug a trailor into the break attachment in the back.. My trailors plug is not the same as the male end on my truck.. Thanks

For whatever reason, Toyota decided to put Silver racks on all the Sport/Limited models to distinguish it from the SR5 trim line. I've heard of customers asking the dealer to swap them out tho due to personal preferences, so you might approach your dealer about it...

for the trailer hitch, i have a trailer and have the same problem...the trailer harness is a 4 pin (flat) connector, while the 4runners is a round 6 pin. ive been told there is a conversion kit for the trailer, which will adapt the 4 pin to fit the truck. havent used it yet so i havent had time to switch it...hope that helps

That's correct that there's an adapter you can buy to convert the 4Runner round outlet to a flat 4. I think the round one is for bigger trailers with electric brakes while the flat 4 is for smaller trailers with surge brake (or no brake).

Yes, you can find those adaptors in many stores. I bought mine at u-Haul, but probably paid a few more dollars than if it were purchased at a trailer store. Think it was around 15 bucks.

I think it is a 7 pin to 4 pin, though. Works good. My trailer does not have brakes.

Trailer Harness

Sorry for being a little late on this topic... when I purchased my 03 Limited, the dealer gave me an optional trailer wiring harness with instructions on how to install it. I would ask them if they can get you one for free.
