Roof rack cross bars?

My brother has a 2010 4R that has the roof rack and cross bars. He does not like the cross bars and will give them to me for my 2016 4R Limited that has the rails but no cross bars.

Two questions. Will they fit and how do I remove them from his rails?

You can find pictures online but the rear plastic caps pop off, using a paint can opener works well to pop off the caps.
Once the caps are off there are some rubber pieces inserted into the Groove that essentially keep the rails from sliding off the back of the rail.
Then simply loosen the thumb screws on the rails and slide them off the back.
It may help to mark them according to which way is the front of the vehicle.
Then simply snap the caps back on. Installation on the next vehicle is essentially the same but backwards.

Thank you EZ! I had looked and suspected this to be the method but better to ask and be sure before I go prying on the rear plastic covers.

We had the 2010 and 2016 parked side by side yesterday and I think nothing has changed as far as the roof rails.

In order to install the bars they must slide in from the rear which requires the plastic end caps be removed.

The part is supposed to come with a nylon removal tool, which mine did not however a putty knife or small pry bar works I put tape on mine to prevent any scratches.

Push down and inward on the End cap and pry up on the outside where the small plastic tabs are.

After the tabs are off the outside edge push the endcap up and inward to rock the inside tabs off.

Once removed you can see how they are attached.

After removing both end caps simply slide the cross bars in from the back. I did not tighten the screws which attach the bar until after I had slide them forward to allow a little play while installing them.

Finished product.

Please be careful the end caps are very fragile and the tabs seem fragile ensure you do not force anything and break your caps.
