The rack is a port installed option. I had it deleted so it was never installed. Check my pics in the BFG winter thread linked in post # 8 in my signature.

do you have a cleaner pic of your 4runner, without the snow.. preferably a shot of the roof? i wanted to see what they used to cover the holes..

It's the Toyota OEM optional "front bumper trim" for the early 4th Gen. Plastic bolt on item purely for looks. Some members have had it crack real easy. Was also available in US.

To be honest I think a 4Runner looks stupid without the rack. I think the rack gives the 4runner more of an outdoor type look. I kept mine and have a Yakima Loadwarrior on it which I put to good use.
i'm happy for you... unfortunately, some of us have no use for it... it's not really "stupid" how you put it.. it's just personal preference... like bug shields... i would never put one on my 4runner.. not my taste but would never call it "stupid"... get the picture?.. :bravo:

I agree, I took mine off cause I have the darl blue paint it came with a silver rack, didnt like how it looked so I removed it, now if it was a black rack, I would have kept it on, just personal prefference

When you're done let us know what the cost was for the"Toyota special parts". i am curious what the plastic costs. I will not be judgmental a I am into "factory" lok-a-like and should've-been-delivered mods
