Lots of good responses and good information. I've found a few out there from both Gobi and Baja that I have compared in person. I've leaning toward the Baja 3/4. I think it would suit my purposes best. My big concern is I'm cheap and the shipping cost bothers me. I know its expensive to ship something big and heavy and bulky like that but sheesh, $120? I'm going to call their offices in San Diego and see if I can just go pick one up there. November and December are surf season there so it might be worth the gas if I kill two birds with one rack.

Did you consider Frontrunner 3/4 slim racks like kiruxa's? $848 shipped from the manufacturer, and Forum member Nolakrewe is a dealer for them. He may have better pricing for you.

I did look at those, although only online. I found a guy nearby that had the Baja rack on his and got him to bring it over to my house for some fitting with my kayaks and some other stuff I want to use it for. It worked great and I like the way it looks. The wind noise wasn't bad either.
I ordered a Baja Rack, the 3/4, tonight and hope it comes soon.
Everyones input here is greatly appreciated.

I just saw this thread so late to respond, but have to say my Gobi rack fit and finish met my expectations and holding up very well. There is some wind noise but very minimal; not intrusive at all.
But you should be good with the Baja rack too....enjoy!

I heard people were having issues with the GOBI racks leaking .. have you had any issues in regards to the seal?

If anyone is having trouble with any rack leaking is most likely due to improper installation. I don't have personal experience with Camelbak but Gobi and Baja both use the same factory mounts as the original rack. I can only assume that Camelbak does the same. There is very little room for water intrusion if the necessary precautions are taken.

Not at all, and I take mine through high pressure car washes too. If it's leaking then the installation was not done properly.

I know I've seen a post on T4R of someone complaining about it. But I'll have to agree with you that it was most likely improper installation.

I've had the Baja short rack for 1.5 years now and no problems. I did have some substantial noise a few times but it was because the fairing was vibrating/rattling and needed to be tightened. Otherwise, I don't really notice any noise, but I also don't really drive it over 70mph where I'm guessing you would get more wind noise.
OK, I ordered the Baja rack on the 24th and got a call today from the freight company. They said they are delivering it tomorrow. They said sometime after 2 so hopefully it will come in time to install it tomorrow.
So far I'm pretty happy just with the fast shipping from Baja. No offense to the other companies, I considered both Gobi and Drabbits, but why do I read so much about people waiting 6 to 8 weeks to get their racks? I guess if you order a custom build it's going to take a while. I assume they powdercoat in batches to get a better price, but when I looked to order a Gobi from Trailduty their website said to allow 4 to 6 weeks. It just seems to me that these things should already be built and ready to ship.
Anyway, I'm hoping to install tomorrow and post some pictures.
