Roof Top Fishing Rod Holder

I got bored in the middle of the night, and made this fit on my factory cross bars on the 4runner. Rods sit pretty snug in the holder, but I use a bungie over the top to make sure they don't go anywhere.

Used a regular Berkley wall mount fishing rod holder, drilled the holes a little bigger, and some of my Yakima universal Mighty Mounts.

Nothing astronomical, just thought I'd share. I used this same set up on my wrx for a year before I sold it since any rod over 4 feet was a hassle to put in the car. Once I get a roll bar in the rear my rods will sit inside against the roof.

It's worked out pretty well for me so far. Took it on it's first wheeling trip, roughly a 10 hour round trip, and with the bungee cord, it held up wonderfully. Nothing moved out of place, on the bumpy trails, or at highway speeds.
