Rotary to auto climate swap?

Is it possible to swap the manual 3-knob HVAC unit for an auto climate control HVAC unit? I am reading online that it can't be done... I've got an '01 SR5, so it didn't come with the auto climate stock. I like to upgrade stuff but would like to keep it as OEM as possible... Thanks guys (and girls)!

Great question, I would love to know the answer to this

I love my 4Runner but miss the auto climate on my last car. Adjusting the fan/temp all the time gets annoying.

i would say maybe no worth it, as it would involve a lot of pieces like sensors wires and what not,

i own a 97 celica and back in the forums this has been discussed several times from a jdm celica and the work is ridiculous,

however, anything is possible with deep pockets.

hi iknow how to doit ijust to have a 1996 limited ichange the interied system alot of wires you have to know what you are doing it takes a while plus the parts are a little pricie you have to have the book from toyota to run the cervo motos sensors you can get some of the parts at ebay or junkard is not that difficult....here is my cell if you need it...alex isold my 4r 6years ago ialso change interior parts .....ispend around 7000.....$$$$ iowne a 2002 limited just got it i pay 8000.....steal 100miles.....in it comes width auto climate....:bluejump:

It would be a monumental task since you'd have to obtain all the small motors and do the wiring and would require removing the entire dash. I'm not so sure it would be worth the time and money.
