I actually just researched rotopax a few days ago. I used the two links harper mentioned to help me out. I went with 1 of the 2gal fuel, and 1 of the 2gal water. I also picked up two sets of the locking mounts. You are able to mount two containers stacked on one mount if you buy the extension piece for the mount, but i bought two mounts with the anticipation that i will be adding two more pax and will need the extra mount. I am planning to pick up one more gas and and i'm undecided on either the storage container(and try to figure out a way to waterproof it). or just go with a 3rd gas can to give me 6 gallon or 90 miles of range. Also you will need to purchase the backing plates for the mounts which is sold separately for some dumb reason. I plan on mounting these to my Gobi when it gets here. :boink:

I've got a few of the 4 gallon Rotopax. They are leak-proof and built rugged. They will also expand in the sun, appearing bulbous on the sides. Be careful when driving around with these on your racks, occasionally open them to allow the expanding vapors to escape. Here's a pic of one (not mine) in that condition:

I have a couple 4gal cans for the truck and a couple 1gal. cans for my dual sport.
They are very durable and top quality- unlike the cheapo ones at any given store that will let you down and blow a seam when you need them most.
Cost upfront is hard to swallow, but pays for itself in the end

I ended up deciding against the storage pack due to the cost for benefit. I figured i could stuff the 2 gallons worth of gear into the trunk somewhere and instead picked up another gas pack. Cant wait for them to arrive! There 20% off on 4wheel parts still so that helped a little with the cost.

Okki has a great thread on them - but note his comments about the fuel spouts, they really do suck so get the international version.
Not a fan of the storage box since it has very little room and not water proof.
Mine are mounted on the Gobi Sunroof insert.
I am intrested on how you did this on your sunroof insert I have all the pieces and am confused and stuck on Step 1 could you send some pics or do you have a write up on how you did this thanks

I can take some more pictures but I'm confused by what exactly you are looking for. Basically attach base to sunroof insert and then attach the gas cans to th base.
Cost is definitely a factor for what you're getting. When I researched extending my range with extra gas cans, I decided against the rotopax and went with two Scepter 5 Gal plastic cans (@ $24/each) and a Bajarack mounting system for my rack.
Although they are well built, for the amount of fuel you get (less than 5 Gallons, really?), the only real reason to buy these is for space savings. If you have plenty of room on your rack and don't plan to mount them to a spare tire gate thingie, I see no reason to invest in such a limited solution.

I'm may have figured it out was trying to figure how to piece everything together with the mounting plate because I still had the small circle mount plates the locks came with but everything seems to be intact and works sorry for being vague guess I was looking to see if you had pics of the other side of the insert without the RotoPax cannister attached
