Rotted PVC gasket

Changing my PVC Valve and Gasket Easy enough. But the gasket is broken off at the rim. I'm hoping to get it out in one piece. The PCv valve is still in place with the gasket baked into the valve clover. I stared out using my klines and a thin blade. It got dark, I gave up for the night.
Any tips?

Are you saying the rubber gasket in the valve cover is broken off flush with the metal? If so I don't think it will come out in one piece because the remaining piece is larger than the hole you are trying to pull it through. The best thing to do of course is to pull the valve cover off and work from the inside. You might get most of it using needle nose pliers and just pulling out small pieces.

If it's like mine you can't get to it from the inside but it does make it easier to work on with the valve cover removed and it's a good time to replace the valve cover gasket.The last two I done I cut or broke the seal in one place then you can grab it and pull it out.Is your PVC valve plastic or metal just curious seen a plastic one with a 90 degree bend on a DOA engine yesterday

Thanks. I was able to rock it out with klines and a thin Blade. The piece left was big enough to pull out with needle nose. I wiped the rim out and put the gasket back together to make sure it was all there. We be good to go. this valve is metal but the one on my wrangler is a plastic 90..
