I just hit like 67k miles on my 4runner. it is a 4.0 V6, and it JUST started smelling like a rotten egg. Now are my cats bad or my O2 sensor? Or what? My mom also has a 4runner just like mine with 97K miles..and hers started at 90K miles. I need a solution for this because it stinks...literally! It only happens when you get onto the truck.

Thats normal. your just smelling the sulfur from the exhaust. If you wanna fix it you have to angle the tip to the side.
Why is it doing it all of a sudden? Kinna weird
I noticed this too, I have a 2005 V8 Limited.
I got the smell all but gone by running a can of seafoam in 1/4 tank of gas (regular 87 octane) and also removed my hydrocarbon filter. I did this about 2 weeks ago (only bought my T4R august 27th) and I have yet to smell the rotten eggs with the rear window down.
Do a search on hydrocarbon filter. Some have chosen to remove it, others havent. I do not need to pass any emissions inspections where I live, and did notice (and so did my wife) an increase in both throttle response and fuel economy.

See Idk why i have to do that. I have been using this fuel ever since I bought the runner....and i HAVE raped it ever since I got it. So nothings really different.
