Ok guys I've hit a wall here. Things started a few weeks ago with my 99' 4runner 2.7L. I will try and post this as close to chronological as possible.
started out getting a cel for a TPS malfunction, and ended up replacing the sensor which fixed a "sticky" gas pedal from idle. all was well for about a week and then I got another light. checked that and it was reading "excessive egr flow", so I started out as cheap as I could. I cleaned the entire throttle body, IAC, and EGR valve pretty damn clean. everything back together and she's idles with a faint skip from time to time and on acceleration bucks from 1000-2500 ish rpms randomly.
Ive received two other codes. One shortly after I cleaned everything for Insufficient EGR flow, system running lean, and another for MAF circuit malfunction.
I proceeded to clean the MAF, but noticed it was pretty corroded so I just replaced it thinking that might be the problem. The girl has about 147k on her so I just went ahead and did a tune since its been about time and replaced plugs, wires, and did the fuel filter as well thinking it might be a starvation problem.
Everythings connected great, clean and there are no leaks. I'm basically looking to see if anyone has any input on where to go next. I think I'm down to it either being bank 1 o2 sensor (recently replaced bank 2), cat, coil packs, or an injector problem, but all are now staying on the expensive side (especially after buying a MAF sensor). The truck isn't throwing any more codes and is still running awful.
I'm curious if there are any typical failures in these motors that i might be able to check and whats the best way to check them.
I've also put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the tank and haven't seen any changes (not that that rules out injectors, but just for info.)
hope that was detailed enough. I appreciate everyones help!
