I just installed my gibson exhaust at work today. I started it up and it ran fine I was on the way home from work and now it idles kinda rough at the stop light. it shut off on me twice. is there any way to adjust the idle on a drive by wire car?

You should never need to mess with the idle on these cars, and no there is not without the software. You sure everything is plugged in? Any CEL? A catback exhaust should really do nothing for the vehicle besides some noise and slightly better exhaust flow.

I wasn't going to try to mess with anything and I figured it was all controlled by the ecu but no I didn't unplug anything. I followed the directions exactly I've installed exhausts on other cars I've owned and never had any issues. i guess ill go double check everything again. And no theres no CEL on

I'm getting the same issue, I'm going to swap the muffler out later this week and reply back here and see if it's fixed. I didn't have it shut off but it was hiccuping while driving and idling rough

Hold up. Just go unhook your battery for 20 minutes, then hook it back up. It'll probably die the first time, so start it back up again. Now let if idle for a few minutes, and go for a good drive. Do some normal driving leaving your neighborhood, do some acceleration, then go back home.

If the problem persists, keep digging.

I did this already so I'm moving to step 2 which is swap the muffler and if that's not it it's time to dig around the engine a bit

I would drive it a few more days before going that far.

Was a 20 dollar glass pack from Oreillys, it's not getting installed till later this week so I got those days to feel it out, thanks for the feedback though man

Did you clean your throttle body when you disconnected your battery? Dirty throttle body won't help the vehicle relearn idle right.

sorry kinda a lot late on a reply just been slammed with school, but it slowly fixed it self after about a day and a half of driving it smoothed itself out and sounds awesome. still kinda a funky cold start but nothing to crazy.
