I hope you aren't asking about the transmission shifting through the gears... ???
Is the acceleration strong and fairly constant? If so, it is supposed to do that...

Any codes ?
I'm guessing you have an auto?
Could it be the A/C compressor kicking in?
Actually I never ran the A/C until after this started happening. It’s so subtle you can hardly tell it’s happening on the needle. I can hear it more than anything.

Have you checked your spark plugs ? Could possibly be a malfunctioning fuel injector. Especially if it happens when it warms up.
The first thing I did when i bought the truck was put new plugs, wires, and coils in it. Never an issue until maybe two weeks ago.

Wouldn’t hurt to check the resistance on the injectors. And what coils, plugs and wires did u go with ?
The other thing with my truck that I forgot to mention is that after I shut it off, there is a strong gas smell at the rear drivers side. Is there an easy way to diagnose if it is injectors? don't know how much time and money I want to pour into this. My truck is a 2000, just turned 94000 miles and I have had it since 2005. Looking at a new blue TRD Pro. Maybe that is the way to go. My wife will not drive it as she doesn't trust that she wont get stranded.
Quick update on my particular situation, I had a small leak where the crossover pipe meets the cat, so I fixed that and she’s running amazing now.
