RS-3200 Blunder

There is a chink in RS-3200's armor. I found this by inspecting skid plates today. Factory security system uses horn to sound alarm, loud simple and inexpancive. But if you slide below the front ot the vehicle, you'll notice that there is plenty space between radiator and front bumper. In that space sits factory horn with the wires within the reach. Once harness is disconected horn is dead. Without noise there is plenty time to get in and take your $2300 navi system. Sad but true. There is a good news though, engine immobiliser will stop them from driving away.

Blah...why even bother to get dirty? Just pry open the hood and disconnect the horns or battery. The RS3200 will never notice.

Your observation is interesting none-the-less. Perhaps this is why the factory alarm (not the RS3200) has a third horn located over the front passenger side wheel well. There's no way to get to that one without cutting or prying. In addition, this alarm has a sensor on the hood locking mechanism so you cannot pry open the hood without tripping the alarm.

As has been discussed in various threads before, the RS3200 won't stop an intent thief.
