RS3000 Light

Since it is raining and was bored and unable to actually do what i need to do to my 4Runner and I did not notice a write up on it I changed the led indicator for the RS3000 in about 5 min.

You will need

1. Soldering Iron
2. LED "Whatever you want I wanted a Blue one".
   Voltage normally on a led is 2-5 volts depending on the color and intensity on a vehicle you typically have to have a resistor to drop the 12v down to a subtle range. But these wires come from your RS3000 and they are already dropped for you.
   I used a NTE30043 Blue Super-brite led with the following characteristics
   • Forward Voltage VF = 3.5V
   • Continuous Forward Current IF = 30mA
   • Luminous Intensity IV = 3500mcd
   • Emission Wave Length λP = 465nm
   • Viewing Angle 2Ɵ1/2 = 15°
3. Solder
4. 3 Hand holder thing comes in really handy if you have one

So Here we go

• Pull out your Security Indicator
  Fairly straight forward the connectors are kind of a pain in the a$$ to undo
  
  
• Unsnap the LED "mine had brown and purple wires"
  
  
• Unwrap wires from plastic post
• De solder the current led
  keep in mind what color goes where
• Solder in new LED and trim excess off of legs *if i remember correctly purple goes to the - side of the led with the flat edge or big element and purple goes to the + the round edge or small element
  
  
• Re-wrap wires
  
  
• Re-install in housing
  
  
• Put it back in your 4Runner
