RTT with Sunroof Pass-thru

Anyone have a RTT that has a sunroof pass-thru?
I don’t necessarily want to use it as an entrance. The dogs sleep in the vehicle and be nice to look in on them.

Clamshell preferred. $20k Redtail is the only one I’ve seen with this capability.

had to go look at what a $20k RTT looked like. Its nice, but not $20k nice. Seems like you might be better off buying another clamshell and putting a deck hatch cover in yourself.

I do not know of any other RTT that has that. Probably need to put one in yourself or fork over 20k...

Also, how would you be able to look in on the dogs from a floor hatch? Is the roof of your vehicle glass?

How about a RTT w/ an awning attachment that they can sleep in?

3k sure is a lot cheaper than 20k

$20k for a Redtail RTT is ridiculous but I guess it's perfect for the Defender owner. I couldn't imagine buying a RTT that costs 2x than a wedge style truck camper and nearly as much as a teardrop trailer. At that price I'd want a pop-top conversion and those are "only" about $10k. Speaking of which I talked with Campteq and they do have plans for one on the 5th gen 4Runner. Currently they're working on one for the 200 series and the 5th gen will be on the list after that. Pop-top 5th gen? Count me in. I just hope it happens soon(er) and it comes out before I reach 200k miles on it lol.

I would just poke my head in the sunroof. Either make a fabric tunnel or open the hatch and peer as needed.
Future plans is possibly have the kid or myself sleep in the vehicle as they get older. We usually use a ground tent or awning w/ wall. Just looking at RTT options.

Haha, I would buy another vehicle over a $20k RTT. This company is founded by some former Earth Roamer employees I believe.

Redtail Overland went off the path in a big way. Great ideas, but 25k for a carbon fiber tent and how much does it weigh? 125, 150? No, 310 pounds, 140 kg! What vehicle has a dynamic roof load rating to accommodate 310 pounds? can anyone name one manufacturer?? You could buy 6, yes six Alu-Cab gen 3.1 and have change left over and the Alu-cab is 114 pounds lighter. Like I said they went off the path, 25k for a RTT that will break your roof rack off and shatter on the trail or worse, roll your rig over.
