Rubberized coating on wheels?

I've got a Black 97 4Runner with stock wheels and I was considering blacking out the wheels to go with the black theme that Ive got going. I was wondering if anyone on here has used or seen someone use the black rubber coating stuff (spray can for undersides of vehicles) on their wheels. Might look kinda cool, just not sure...thoughts?

It probably would come out looking like crap plus you don't want to add the extra weight to your rims since it could cause balancing issues. I would advise against it.

I was thinking the same thing today. But my concern was the balancing as well.

I have done it to my wheels. I like it. I used Rusteoleum (sp?) professional rubberized undercoating. NOT the bed-liner one. The rubberized undercoating seems to have a finer texture than the bed-liner (I have tried both) and if you do it, get the professional one, (it just says professional on the can) its only $2 more but it gave a move even texture and application.

As far as balancing, I just tried to get an even coat. I didn't remover the tires, just taped off. Seems to be OK, I don't notice any vibrations

EDIT: I did remove the wheels from the vehicle though, the lugs I just painted flat black by the way
